Let Not Your Hearts be Troubled

May 7, 2023    Bishop Josiah Idowu-Fearon

Today's passage gives encouragement for troubled hearts. Though the disciples were saddened by the impending death of Jesus, their Rabbi, they knew that the world would not end with his death. Jesus assures them of his return to take them and all who believe in him to the glorious Kingdom of God.

We all face personal problems and hear and read of troubles in the world. In spite of all that, Jesus assures us, as he did with his disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled, believe in God; believe also in me”. In our day-to-day difficulties, let us have faith in Jesus Christ who is the way to get to the room he has prepared for us, the truth we hold onto to get to our room, and the eternal life we will enjoy when we get there.
