Paul is exhorting his flock in Philippi to change. Being a Christian means we are no longer part of our old selves but are “new creations” in Jesus Christ. The world should see in our lives and attitudes a reflection of Jesus. To achieve that, Paul gives us these amazing verses to show how Jesus, at his incarnation some 2000 years ago, emptied himself of the glory he had formerly shared with His Father.
