Comfortable Words
May 10, 2020 • Bishop Gary Lillibridge
The word "comfort", like so many words, can carry a number of images and meanings. Some of the most common usages of this word include bringing loving care, reassurance, and companionship. The Latin root of this word is "fortis", which means strong or strength. So, comforting words are primarily strengthening words. Even though human beings are described as "clay pots/earthen vessels" and therefore from time to time we "leak" faith, we are also described as stones which have strong qualities.
