Acts | Church Drama | Lesson Six
This week, return to the story of Acts with the Rev. John Sundara and Dr. Kira Moolman Pettit as they dig into Acts 7-8. Here we witness the martyrdom of Stephen and other unfolding threats against the church alongside the conversions of Simon and the Ethiopian eunuch. In these stories we start to see the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise that His good news would spread from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth!
Discussion Questions:
Read Stephen’s sermon again. What sticks out to you about it? How does the ending fit in (or not) with the rest of his testimony?
Look through v.54-60. Contrast what God is doing with what is happening on the ground.
Simon the magician believes and is baptized – but does not quite get things right. Where do you see hope in Simon’s story?
Through “divine appointment”, Philip meets up with the Ethiopian eunuch who asks him to explain the Scripture to him. Imagine yourself in Philip’s shoes. How would you have tried to explain this passage from Isaiah?
