Video 10: Acts 15-16 

This week, the Rev. Reagan Cocke and Dr. Kira Moolman Pettit explore Acts 15-16, where we hear about the unfolding discussion about what it means for Jewish and Gentile Christians to live together. We hear Peter’s witness that Gentiles have received the Holy Spirit and should not be held to the burden of the law. But we also hear that this does not mean that their lives should look the same as before they were Christians. We also hear about Paul and Barnabas going their separate ways and more conversions and miracles. 

Discussion Questions: 

Peter testifies that Gentile Christians should not be burdened with keeping the law that the Jewish people have failed to keep themselves. And yet he also recommends that some changes should be made from their pagan lifestyle. What are these in Acts 15? What changes would you expect to see in a new Christian’s life today? 

Who is someone in your life you reconciled with after a significant disagreement? Who is someone in your life with whom you have been unable to reconcile?  

“The Lord opened her heart.” What role did Lydia play in her conversion? What role did God play? What role did you play in your conversion? What role did God play?
