Acts | Church Drama | Lesson Seven

This week, Sarah Gividen, our director of modern worship, joins Dr. Kira Moolman Pettit to discuss Acts 9-10. We get to see Saul’s conversion and the unfolding of the gospel to the Gentiles. Rather than God’s people sectioning themselves off in the corner, the Holy Spirit reveals to God’s people that the good news is for everyone. 

Discussion Questions:   

Many of us are familiar with the “road to Damascus” type of conversion stories, where Jesus makes Himself known to someone in a dramatic way. If you have a story like that and feel open to sharing, please share it with your group!  

If you are someone who does not have a “road to Damascus” conversion story, sometimes you might feel like your faith is less important or interesting. But conversion is something that we undertake daily, in big and small ways. Kira and Sarah discuss the amazing yet relatable faith of Ananias, who follows God’s leading – but first asks some questions. Where have you gone through this kind of wrestling with God? And what did He ask you to do? 

Sarah and Kira talked about the temptation to bracket certain people out of God’s grace: enemies like Saul and outsiders like the Gentiles. Broadly, who are those enemies and outsiders we often leave out of the story? More specifically, who are those enemies and outsiders in your own life that you might need to give up to God’s care?
