Dr. Kira Moolman Pettit, The Rev. Reagan Cocke

This week, return to the story of Acts with the Rev. Reagan Cocke and Dr. Kira Moolman Pettit as they dig into Acts 13-14. Here we get to hear about Saul, who has become Paul. Paul and another leader of the church, Barnabas, witness in synagogues in different cities, with some conversions, both among Jews and Gentiles. They begin to face opposition, even as signs and wonders continue to unfold by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Going their separate ways was probably not the ending that Paul and Barnabas had anticipated. How would you characterize the outcome—a failure, a success, concerning? Share a story in your life that had a similar outcome.

The new disciples left behind at Pisidian Antioch, far from being discouraged were “filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.” Why joy?
